Welcome to the new home of Beckonridge Borzoi on the web.

We have long been admirers of this breed, and consider them to be the most regal of any of the breeds- the "Lamborghini of the dog world". Made of grace, speed, and gentleness, we believe that there is no other breed that can touch a Borzoi.

I fell in love with the Borzoi years ago. I remember as a child, while attending dog shows with my parents, looking for the Borzoi at the Dog shows. I still have a set of gift cards I bought at a show with a Borzoi on the cards.

I started as a child, when my parents bought a poodle puppy for obedience, and as they say- the "rest is history". I started training and working with dogs from that time forward. Later, in my 20's, I started serious obedience work, and conformation -mostly in German Shepherds, but nothing touched my heart like a Borzoi. Finally, I got my first, and their sweet, gentle, docile, loving and calm nature has proven to be the breed for us. Borzoi are docile they usually avoid loud children, however, I have found them to be wonderful Therapy Dogs. Working weekly with local children that have cancer, and have been quite the " hit of the party" in their loving nature. Somehow the dogs know the children need understanding and gentleness.

Although Borzoi are a large breed, they are very understanding of their size. It is normal for Borzoi not to wag their tails, and to remain composed in their behavior at all times. After all- if you lived in a palace such as in the Tsars of Russia- you would not want to knock things over. Their stoic composure is amazing, and their beauty and their coat will stop people in their tracks to watch the dogs on any walk.

We are dedicated to the breed, even though we are not a kennel. Each one is a treasured member of our household.. I hope you will browse our pages.

We are adding things to our website all the time. We are making an effort to present you with our beloved Borzoi. At this point we can provide you with information regarding our wonderful breed.
